Mt Walker Trail Run

The Peninsula's most rewarding grind — a steep push to two summit viewpoints over Hood Canal and the Olympics. Earn that IPA.

Mt Walker is the closest real summit to Quilbilly’s and the one our guests talk about most. The trail climbs relentlessly through old-growth rhododendron to two viewpoints — the North Viewpoint frames Hood Canal and Puget Sound, the South Viewpoint opens onto the Olympic front range.

It’s short but genuinely steep — about 2,000 feet of gain in 2 miles. Bring water, take your time, and know that a cold draft and a burger are waiting 10 minutes down the road at Quilbilly’s when you’re done.

Trailhead: Mt Walker Trailhead off Hwy 101, ~5 miles south of Quilcene.
